The title of this blog comes from one of our favourite author’s Dr Seuss.  I Can Read With My Eyes Shut – “I can read in a circle and upside down.” (We also have Oh, the Thinks You Can Think for non-book related stuff.)

We are Australian book lovers – which means we are Australian and love books although we also love lots of Australian books, and love seeing our favourite local authors do well on the international stage. Susan is World Literatures Feature Writer at Suite101.com, which means she has access to lots of great new books from around the world. The reviews here will be her more personal take on those books, as well as some of the stuff she reads “just for fun” – which ranges from award-winning novels to cookbooks to YA fiction to Australian history tomes to bodice rippers with Fabio on the cover.

Meredith has a degree in English and German literature then promptly spent 10 years working as a travel consultant where she used none of her literary knowledge. She reads anything (Anything but Dickens! – M) – chick-lit, humour, biographies, kids literature, thrillers, and even the high-falutin’ stuff that she got her degree in.
