I don't remember ever seeing that particular Little Golden Book, but by the looks of the picture above I wouldn't have liked the illustrations either! I do remember as a child being a little scared of the Big Bad Wolf from the story though!

The Little RR story was pretty awful, like Hansel and Gretel! Interesting how the context e.g. colour etc creates the impact. I'm sure it wouldn't have been half as scary in pastel!

I do not like the look of that Golden Book either! While we owned many, thankfully that was not one of them...

Funnily enough Ms Red Riding Rood features in my WoW piece as well this week! Great minds...

I don't think I saw that book as a kid, we had heaps of Golden Books. It's interesting your thoughts on the illustrations in that book and how they scared you as a child. Even the image on the cover looks scary...

The Hoodoo Gurus song "What's My Scene?" says in the first verse "Now the stage is set, where's my Juliet baby? Is it maybe my Midsummer Night's Deam?"

The fourth book of Phoenix files was a five Star.
I loved the way it ended in a mysterious set of words and all the way through the book the suspension was killing me.
I can't wait till the fifth book is out so I can did deeper into this fantastic adventure
